Jennifer Ling Bagdasarian, Ph.D., is the Associate Director of the Center for Digital Health and Artificial Intelligence (CDHAI) at the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School. Her work focuses on the intersection of artificial intelligence, healthcare, and organizational transformation, with a growing emphasis on the implications of AI for mental health care and the responsible deployment of AI in sensitive clinical contexts.
Dr. Bagdasarian previously served as a postdoctoral fellow at CDHAI, where she collaborated with interdisciplinary teams across medicine, business, and computer science to advance research and implementation initiatives related to responsible AI in healthcare. In her current leadership role, she helps guide the Center’s research, partnerships, and program development in areas including AI governance, implementation science, and the organizational impacts of emerging digital health technologies.
She received her Ph.D. in Management from Florida Atlantic University, where her dissertation examined how the adoption of an AI dermatology application by healthcare professionals shapes and challenges the institutional foundations of medicine. Her research broadly explores how AI technologies are integrated into clinical practice and how organizations adapt to the shifting boundaries between human expertise and algorithmic decision-making. Dr. Bagdasarian received her B.A. from Duke University and an Executive MBA from Florida Atlantic University.
